Marjorie Kaye

Marjorie Kaye resides in the city of North Adams, Massachusetts, where the quiet beauty influences her visual forms and process. Her work is an exploration of opposites: form and color; organic and geometric; precision and chaos. Colorful and bold, her sculpture and gouache paintings are kinetic and energetic. Her work has been reviewed in many publications including the Boston Globe and ArtScope Magazine, the Boston Voyager, and Metapsychosis. Kaye is the Western Massachusetts correspondent for ArtScope Magazine, covering exhibitions in the Berkshires and Boston, and has covered Art Basel in Miami Beach, Florida. Her work has been shown extensively both locally and nationally and she is a 2016 recipient of the Lillian Orlowsky/William Freed Foundation Grant from the Provincetown Art Center and Museum, as well as a finalist in the 2018 Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellowship awards in Painting. Kaye is also the Director and Founder of the artist-run gallery Galatea Fine Art in Boston, Massachusetts.

By
  • Marjorie Kaye
| 3 Apr 2023 Features Visual Art Tai Chi, abstract, futurism, geometric, painting

A new series of gouache paintings that combine natural and geometric forms, exploring cycles of growth and momentum. Inspired by Tai Chi and the blossoming of flowers, these works manifest as the explosion of a geode or the life cycle of a bloom, driven by the commonality of momentum.

Masks of Origin: Regression in the Service of Omnipotence – A Review

By
  • Marjorie Kaye
| 14 Feb 2023 Signal Boost Books, Reviews essays, perception, synchronicity, visionary, youth

Each chapter of Masks of Origin—a book of what perhaps can only be called “visionary” essays, by Brian George—reads like an individual novel. Divided into personal and universal experiences, each informs the other. Descriptions of events in childhood and adulthood provide a wormhole into the cosmos.

Synaptic Tides

By
  • Marjorie Kaye
| 14 Oct 2020 Features Visual Art Organic, abstract, color, paintings

Forms point upward or sideways from a centrifugal base, hunting and seeking. Tides of observation and transmission approach and recede, leaving visual patterns in their wake. Ancient symbols make their way across pathways of energy, co-existing with forms of nature; earth, sky and all types of elemental forms are born of essential vibration.
