Will I ever enjoy listening to Kind of Blue again knowing that Miles Davis abused and beat his wife when he was outside the recording studio?
Journal of Consciousness, Literature, and Art
Born in Germany of Polish refugees, Richard grew up in Australia before moving to Canada. In between, he chalked up more than 40 years as a journalist, foreign correspondent, diplomat, and freelancer. His work and travels have taken him from piranha fishing on the Amazon and hopping freight trains across the desert to Fortune 100 boardrooms and playing in a Beijing nightclub. An award-winning editor, he teaches part time at McGill University and lives on a former vineyard in Quebec’s Eastern Townships.
He is the author of the novel, Key to the Highway, a novel coming out from Untimely Books in 2023, which Carl Hoffman (author of Savage Harvest, The Last Wild Men of Borneo, and Liar’s Circus) has called, “A fast-paced episodic adventure tale, with the narrator’s harmonica providing an endless variety of entertaining ways to get him into and out of trouble.”
